“When Incivility Becomes the Norm”

The Rev. Dr. J Herbert Nelson II, Stated Clerk of the PC(USA) General Assembly, has issued a statement in response to the violence on America’s streets following the presidential election. He writes out of concern for those in our congregations and communities with “legitimate fear about their safety and the protection of their human rights,” including “our Muslims, Hispanic, African American, immigrant and LGBTQ neighbors.”  Not denying the outcome of the election, Dr. Nelson ....also asserts that “as Christians, we cannot accept a nation that normalizes violence, exclusion, and racism in our political rhetoric and public policy.” For the full text go to http://www.presbyterianmission.org/story/category/office-general-assembly/
